I highly doubt the groom’s parents are trying to cause drama, and if they are, the couple can’t do anything to neutralize it at this point; they have been as polite as they can. No big event can go without drama. Sometimes we have to enjoy what we have and let go of what we can’t control. This is very new-agey of me, but it’s totally true. We shouldn’t look for ghosts where they might not be any. If somebody told you they are tired, one should take that at face value. Insisting once is enough. On my last birthday, I was really sad because two of my closest friends couldn’t make it; I was sad for a couple of minutes and then I realized, there were like 15 other friends that did make it there with me, and I could be very well enjoying that instead of crying about what was missing, that constituted a very important life lesson for me, lol.
