AI’s Future on Trial

The AI Industry’s Dirty Little Secret: Profiting Off Creators’ Sweat and Tears

The music industry is up in arms, accusing AI-powered song generators Udio and Suno of copyright infringement. But let’s be real, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The real question is, how long can the AI industry get away with profiting off the hard work and creativity of artists without giving them a fair shake?

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is suing Udio and Suno, claiming that the companies trained their AI models on labels’ music without compensating them. But what about the countless other AI companies out there, making bank off the backs of artists without giving them a penny?

It’s time to stop sugarcoating the truth. The AI industry is built on the backs of creators, and it’s time they started paying their fair share. OpenAI, for example, has made billions off its ChatGPT platform, but what’s the benefit to the artists whose work is being used to fuel its algorithms?

And don’t even get me started on the research papers. “DenseAV” is a great example of how AI is being used to “learn” from human creativity, without giving credit where credit is due. It’s like saying, “Hey, I’m just going to take all your hard work and use it to make my own creations, and you can just sit back and enjoy the profits.”

The fact is, the AI industry is built on a foundation of exploitation. It’s time for a change. It’s time for AI companies to start paying artists for their work, and it’s time for artists to start demanding fair compensation for their creativity.

So, let’s stop pretending that this is all just a big misunderstanding. The AI industry is built on the backs of creators, and it’s time they started paying their fair share.
