The Utter Failure of Government: Gauteng’s E-Government Department Heads are a Joke
Get ready for more bureaucracy and inefficiency! The Gauteng Department of e-Government has just been handed over to the mediocre Bonginkosi Dlamini of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP). As if the government’s technology woes weren’t enough, this appointee will be expected to lead the digital transformation of the province’s services, ensuring the continued failures of the citizens.
The department was previously headed by incompetent individuals who managed to worsen the e-government’s dismal track record. Mzikayifani Khumalo’s tenure saw the department implode, making it a laughingstock among government agencies. And now, Dlamini is tasked with cleaning up this mess? It’s a recipe for disaster!
Under his leadership, we can expect more botched digital projects, poor execution, and unnecessary delays. The once-promising Gauteng Broadband Network has already been a shambolic failure, and who knows how much worse things will get?
But wait, there’s more! Lesufi’s newly formed cabinet features a motley crew of cronies and has-beens, most of whom have no idea what they’re doing. This dysfunctional government has no business reforming, improving, or innovating, let alone providing decent e-government services. The people of Gauteng deserve so much better.
What’s the big deal, you ask? Well, as the Economic Freedom Fighters’ Nkululeko Dunga pointed out, "The people of Gauteng rejected the ANC as an organisation that is out of ideas. The reflection of the executive speaks exactly of that… it has regurgitated the same political office bearers into strategic positions of the Gauteng executive."
Don’t bother holding your breath for change – this government’s only interest is in perpetuating the status quo of ineptitude and mediocrity.
