The thing about work trips is that work pays for them. This is kind of the whole point. You’re not supposed to spend your own money on a work trip. This includes transportation. If you’re volunteering your time, then you should be rewarded in kind. That’s not what was happening here. This worker expected that everyone else was going to give them what they wanted, just because they asked for it. But the new guy wasn’t quite willing to do that.
