A massive dam holding back nearly TWO BILLION LITERS of water is cracking apart. Officials have issued a frantic, last-minute evacuation order for EVERYONE living downstream.
The Senteeko Dam, a crumbling private dam near Barberton, is on the BRINK OF CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. The Department of Water and Sanitation confirmed the dam’s critical spillway structure is hanging by a thread—undercut by severe erosion and facing “IRREVERSIBLE DETERIORATION.”
This isn’t a drill. “Failure of the dam is IMMINENT and may occur without further warning,” said department spokesperson Wisane Mavasa. The shocking photo released by the DWS shows the dam’s concrete spillway slab SPLITTING APART—a visual testament to the coming disaster.
