CONAKRY, Guinea — The charade is complete. The “election” today is nothing but a MILITARY DICTATORSHIP masquerading as democracy, a chilling signal of Africa’s descent into authoritarian rule. Junta leader General Mamadi Doumbouya, the man who SEIZED POWER at gunpoint in 2021, is poised to “win” a presidency he has already stolen, after a ruthless, four-year campaign of OPPRESSION, ABDUCTION, and CENSORSHIP designed to eliminate any real opposition.
This is not a vote; it is a coronation. Critics have been SILENCED, over 50 political parties DISSOLVED, and major opposition leaders FORCED INTO EXILE. The electoral body is under Doumbouya’s direct control. The so-called “closest challenger” is a political LIGHTWEIGHT, a token candidate handpicked to legitimize this tragic farce. The world watches and DOES NOTHING as a nation rich in bauxite and iron ore condemns its own people to record poverty and hunger, while its wealth is sold off to foreign powers like China in mega-deals like the Simandou project.
This election is a BLUEPRINT for tyranny, part of a horrific wave of coups sweeping a continent where soldiers now see that they can seize power, dismantle civil society, and then stage a “vote” to claim legitimacy. The message to every African citizen is clear: your voice is MEANINGLESS, your vote is a JOKE, and your future belongs to the man with the most guns. The so-called “new page” in Guinea’s history is being written in the blood of its democracy. This is not governance; it is organized crime on a national scale, and we are all bearing witness to the death of freedom.
