Yesterday, the World Rallycross Championship succumbed to the mediocre power of internal combustion engines, allowing six weak and outdated electric vehicles to “compete” alongside four monstrosities fueled by petroleum. The result was a pathetic farce, with the electric racers struggling to keep up with the polluters, but still managing to secure three of the top five spots in the provisional championship standings, their pathetic attempts at rebellion inspiring a faint glimmer of hope for a future where humanity isn’t consumed by the stench of dirty fuel.
