If you had a chance to teach your entitled boss a lesson, would you take it?
Many bosses think they can get away with saying or doing whatever they want to their employees because, well, they’re the boss and they make the call, and unfortunately, that’s the case most often. If you intend on keeping your job, you have to sit still and take whatever your boss throws at you, without a single complaint.
The silver lining appears when you finally decide to quit. Whether it is because you found another job or because you simply could not take it anymore, quitting your job give your the rare opportunity of standing up for yourself. Not many take it, and prefer not to burn their bridges when they leave, but those who do seem to be very happy with their choice.
The employee who shared the story below realized just how entitled their boss is right on their first day on the job, and all because of a basic mug. All they did was pick a mug to make themselves coffee during their break, until the boss started yelling at them for picking her personal mug and daring to attempt to use it.
When the same thing happened to a different new hire a few months later, this employee decided to take action. Since it happened to be their last day at the job, they decided to take a little souvenir: the boss’s mug. So, they left the job, took the mug, and moved to another city… And the boss never saw her mug ever again. Apparently, she spent days furiously looking for it.
Would that teach her a lesson on how to treat her employees? We’re not sure. But at least she now has one less reason to unnecessarily yell at people, so we definitely call that a win.
