Um, what?! Who wants to join a vacation, 6 hours away, a few days after it’s started? That seems like a waste of vacation time and PTO, no? 

This is also another good reason why this person could bail out of the whole thing. It’s just deeply uncool to expect someone to commit wholeheartedly to something they know nothing about, and cannot even reach easily. It’s clear she wasn’t a consideration while planning this. Auntie has made it pretty clear that this was more of a vacation for one family, rather than a vacay for the whole extended family.
