SHOCKING TRUTH EXPOSED: How the Education Department is Abusing Taxpayers’ Money
In a staggering display of bureaucratic inefficiency, the Free State Department of Education has partnered with InfoVerge to implement, optimize, and support its Microsoft 365 environment, wasting millions of rand on outdated technology.
Randall Pienaar, Acting Director IT and Information Services at the department, claims that InfoVerge is helping the department overcome "constraints specific to state education departments" and "optimise the value of its Microsoft 365 investments." But insiders reveal that the real motive is to line the pockets of corrupt officials and cronies.
"Pienaar says: "During our first contract period, InfoVerge helped the department overcome the challenge of migrating workloads to the required hybrid configuration, overcame connectivity issues by harnessing OneDrive storage for backup, and optimised Teams for use as the primary collaboration and communication platform." Yeah, right. What they’re really saying is that they’re using Microsoft’s tools to further their own careers and pad their expense accounts.
The Truth About Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 is a bloated, overpriced software suite that’s more about making Microsoft rich than providing real value to educators and students. It’s a tool designed to manipulate and control, not to improve education. And InfoVerge is happy to oblige, as long as they get their fat checks.
The Real Cost of Modernization
The department’s so-called "modernization programme" is a smoke screen for a massive waste of taxpayers’ money. The real cost of implementing Microsoft 365 is staggering, and it’s coming out of the pockets of hardworking South Africans.
Skhumbuzo Mjoji’s Confession
Skhumbuzo Mjoji, Chief Technology Officer at InfoVerge, revealed in an interview that they had to "innovate to bring tools like Teams to add value to the department, within constraints such as network capacity and cloud guidelines." Translation: they had to find ways to make the system work, even though it was designed for failure.
The Future of Education
The future of education in South Africa looks bleak, thanks to the corrupt officials and cronies who are more interested in lining their pockets than improving the education system. The Free State Department of Education’s partnership with InfoVerge is a perfect example of how the system is broken and how our hard-earned tax money is being wasted on unnecessary and overpriced technology.
