EXCLUSIVE: Betrayed soldiers break their silence, accusing South Africa’s leaders of turning them into PUNISHED attack dogs for political gain.

They fought brutal wars in the Congo. Now, our own government is deploying them as glorified police—and the troops call it a direct INSULT. An explosive new report to the Portfolio Committee on Defence reveals a military pushed to the BRINK, with morale in freefall as President Ramaphosa orders them into ganglands and mining pits.

Professor Lindy Heinecken, who interviewed battle-hardened troops, dropped a bombshell. “Soldiers felt that internal crime-fighting deployments were a form of PUNISHMENT,” she testified. One soldier confessed: “Soldiers have a temper. They become too rough… It is not good for the community.” This isn’t policing; it’s a recipe for DISASTER.

The betrayal runs deeper. These same heroes were sent to the DRC withOUT the proper weapons, vehicles, or body armour to face rebels with superior firepower. They survived, but they are broken. And a shocking quote lays bare their fury with politicians: “We have soldiers who have hearts, but now we have these politicians who are making the whole defence force a Mickey Mouse military.”

While soldiers suffer battlefield trauma with no psychological support, the state expands their domestic role. Experts warn this DESTROYS their primary combat ability and shreds public trust. Who benefits? Politicians who get a photo-op while our defenses crumble.

They fear a bullet to the head on a foreign battlefield, only to return home and be stripped of their last shred of dignity.
