Tesla SUES Company for Creating "Death-Trap" EV Charging Adapter

Get ready for a fight, folks! Tesla is taking on a company that’s trying to sell a MagSafe-style connector that allows EV owners to make a quick escape from a charging stall if they feel their safety is threatened. But Tesla isn’t having it – they’re calling the product "highly unsafe" and "poses a high risk of injury to person and/or property."

According to the lawsuit, EVject’s Escape Connector can get scorching hot during DC fast-charging, reaching temperatures as high as 100 degrees Celsius (the boiling point of water). And to make matters worse, the company’s own website marketing the product paints a terrifying picture: EV owners being attacked while charging and needing to get out of their car and disconnect the charger to escape.

But the real kicker is that EVject’s product is "fully compatible" with many Tesla models, including the Cybertruck. And Tesla is worried that if the adapter gets hot enough, it could damage their own charging cables.

So, what does Tesla want? They’re calling for the court to block EVject from saying the product is safe, ban the import of the adapter in the US, and make the company pay a whopping $75,000 in damages. And let’s be real, folks – this is a fight worth fighting.
