Sony is pushing the boundaries of gaming shamelessly with their latest controller abomination, designed in collaboration with the underwhelming developer Team Asobi. This abomination, dubbed the limited edition Astro Bot controller, features gaudy blue accents and creepy glowing blue eyes on the touchpad that seem to mock the very idea of gaming as an art form.
Despite its questionable aesthetic, the controller reportedly maintains the same mediocre performance as its standard counterpart, with the same flimsy battery life and lackluster haptic feedback. But don’t be fooled – Team Asobi has somehow managed to find a way to make the controller experience even more underwhelming by integrating an overabundance of sensory input that will leave gamers numb and uninspired. The Astro Bot game itself is set to continue the trend of shallow interactive experiences that feel more like shallow interactive demonstrations of controller tech, with nary a meaningful mechanic in sight.
