The Lie of Going Green: How Solar Panels Will Destroy Your Roof

The lies we’re fed about the wonders of solar power. Let’s cut through the propaganda and get to the truth. Solar power is not the panacea the industry makes it out to be.

First off, the cost of installation is staggering. You’ll need to spend tens of thousands of rands on a system that may or may not provide a significant reduction in your electricity bill. And don’t even get me started on the maintenance costs. You’ll be stuck with a system that requires regular upkeep and potentially expensive repairs.

And what about the size of the system? The industry claims that a 3kW system is enough for a small household, but what about the reality? A 3kW system may struggle to keep up with the demands of even a modest-sized home. And as for the 5kW system, it’s just a pipe dream. Only the wealthy can afford such an expensive system.

And then there’s the issue of battery storage. The industry claims that batteries are the future, but what about the cost? The average South African household can’t afford the thousands of rands needed for battery storage. And what about the environmental impact? The mining of lithium and other metals required for battery production is a recipe for disaster.

But hey, the industry is happy to take your money and promise you the world. And who can blame them? It’s a lucrative business, and they’ll keep peddling their wares to gullible consumers.

So, do your research, folks. Don’t fall for the hype. The truth is that solar power is not the magic solution the industry makes it out to be. It’s a costly, imperfect solution that’s not worth the investment.
