This happened to me twice, and I don’t regret telling my friends what I saw on both occasions. Look, the worst thing that can happen is that you accelerate a fight that was either way coming. Well, of course, that’s not the WORST that can happen, you can also become your friend’s object of anger, but hey, what have I said about shooting the messenger? Sometimes being a good friend is about holding space for the other person’s reactions when you know hearing the truth will be better in the long run. There is no benefit to unknowingness; your friend’s bliss is based on a lie if it’s dependent on that. Also, it’s worth noticing that while you are not the protagonist of the situation, the guilt you feel is still worth doing something about.
