I’m sure this story has more to it. Either the woman wasn’t very eager to get married in the first place, or the groom was doing something else on top of having an AI girlfriend. Don’t get me wrong; I think this is a serious issue, but it’s definitely not THAT serious. An AI model will never disagree with you; ‘she’ will always find you funny, interesting, intelligent- that’s precisely why I don’t consider that a real relationship. Or as the man puts it, ‘it doesn’t count. People talk to AI when they want somebody to tell them what they want to hear, and I don’t think that’s terrible; it can even be a positive, intimate space, like talking to yourself but a little more interactive.
