Love is in the air, and here’s your inspiration for what not to get your beloved for this Valentine’s Day.
Hear ye, hear ye — Valentine’s Day is imminent! Check your calendar right now, because if you’re seeing this, you have just days or perhaps hours to cobble together a gift for your loved one. Don’t fall for that “I don’t want anything, babe” mumbo jumbo. No way. Even if your partner says they don’t want anything, if you love and cherish them, you should get them something they’ll love.
It’s different for every couple. Some couples would love a weekend spent camping or going to a luxurious spa or relaxing on a warm beach somewhere. Other couples can’t resist a long dinner full of great food and great conversation, followed by some dancing or seeing a movie. You can truly customize your Valentine’s plans to match what your babe wants, and that’s the beauty of it. You can spend a small fortune on flowers and Valentine’s chocolate if you want, but if you plan ahead, you can get them something a little more personalized and pay far less for it, too.
These people shared brief snapshots into their lives, which I searched for across the internet and compiled for us all to look at here. Some people bought presents for their kids that missed the mark. One person ordered a Lego bonsai tree to surprise his sweetheart, only to realize that it was shipped in the box — forget about any surprises! And one person is eating a peanut butter and cheese sandwich because they tried to give a gift to their crush… only for her BF to answer the door. And it actually got worse from there, for that poor lovelorn fella. Aww.
It seems like every year, people order flowers for their partners, only to be let down when the flowers actually arrive. It’s probably best to go in-person to get them — 1, because it’s more heartfelt, and 2, because you can check out the quality before forking over your cash. Best of luck out there this year to all you love birds. I just know you’ll all find better gifts than these!
