Toho Unveils Major "My Hero Academia" 10th Anniversary Plans: New Episode, World Tour & More

Toho has unveiled a slate of major celebrations for the 10th anniversary of My Hero Academia The Animation, announcing a brand-new episode exclusive, a global concert tour, and commemorative visuals at Jump Festa.

The milestone comes as the hit anime adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s beloved manga marks the conclusion of its television run after a decade. The series premiered in April 2016 and aired its final episode on Dec. 13, capping eight seasons and 170 episodes.

A cornerstone of the anniversary is a brand-new special episode titled "More," slated for release on May 2, 2026. It will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide (outside Asia). This extra episode is based on content from the manga’s 431st chapter, which was exclusive to the series’ final volume. It will follow protagonist Izuku "Deku" Midoriya and his classmates eight years after their graduation from U.A. High School, expanding the story beyond the anime’s original TV finale, which concluded earlier this month.

In addition, Toho announced "My Hero Academia in Concert," a world tour featuring the iconic score by composer Yuki Hayashi performed live alongside scenes from the anime. The tour kicks off at Pacifico Yokohama on May 30, 2026, before embarking on an international journey to multiple global cities.

At Jump Festa, Toho also debuted the official 10th anniversary logo, teaser visual, and a stunning commemorative illustration. This anniversary visual, crafted by the animation studio BONES and illustrated by long-time character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, highlights 10 different iterations of Deku, showcasing his evolution from a Quirkless boy to the world’s greatest hero.

The series, which chronicles Deku’s journey to become a professional hero in a world where most of the population has superpowers (Quirks), has become a global phenomenon. The anniversary follows a landmark year for the franchise, as Horikoshi’s manga—with over 100 million copies sold worldwide—concluded its serialization this past August after a decade. The anime adaptation also includes four successful feature films in addition to its television run.

Toho’s spokesperson expressed pride and gratitude, stating, “This milestone represents not only a decade of unforgettable stories, heroic characters, and epic battles, but also the incredible support and passion of our global audience.”

The official countdown to the anniversary begins on April 3, 2026, exactly ten years after the anime’s first broadcast. Toho notes that these announcements are just the first wave of plans, with more projects, collaborations, and events to be revealed throughout the 2026 celebration year.
