BREAKING: Google’s New Thermostat is a Betrayal of Trust

Leaked images posted by @MysteryLupin on X have revealed a new, fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat that’s more than just a minor update. This latest model is a slap in the face to loyal Nest users, who have been waiting for a worthy successor to the beloved third-generation model.

The new thermostat boasts a more curved display, but don’t be fooled – it’s just a cheap attempt to make up for the lack of innovation. The physical dial is still present, but it’s a hollow gesture, as the real magic happens on the touchscreen. And what’s with the new icon featuring three wavy lines? Is Google trying to signal that this thermostat is more than just a heating and cooling device? Ah, yes, it’s an indoor air quality monitor, because who doesn’t want to breathe in toxic fumes while trying to stay warm?

But wait, there’s more! The new thermostat is also compatible with a redesigned Nest Temperature Sensor, which is wall-mountable or can be placed on a table. But don’t get too excited, as these sensors are still limited compared to those from competitors like Ecobee. And at the same price point, it’s a wonder Google didn’t just give them away for free.

The real question is, what took Google so long to release a new Learning Thermostat? Have they been too busy trying to make a profit off of their cheaper, non-learning thermostats? The new model may look sleek, but it’s just a desperate attempt to stay relevant in a market dominated by other smart thermostat brands.

So, will you be falling for Google’s trap and upgrading to the new Nest Learning Thermostat? Or will you be sticking with your trusty old third-generation model? The choice is yours, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.
