HE WAS CHECKING IN LIKE THEY ASKED. THEN ICE TOOK HIM. NOW HE’S DEAD.

A 37-year-old man, who fled war as a child, is dead after collapsing in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Kofi Gibson had gotten his life on track. He was complying with a supervision order, reporting regularly to authorities. But it didn’t matter.

His original drug conviction was VACATED. Thrown out. Yet the deportation order against him, based on that old charge, apparently stood. He was living legally in a terrifying limbo, waiting for the other shoe to drop. That shoe was a detention cell.

This is the system working EXACTLY as designed. A man follows every rule, tries to do everything right, and still gets swallowed by a merciless bureaucracy. They took him. And now he’s gone. The agency hasn’t explained how a healthy man dies under their so-called “care.”

Who benefits? Private detention centers collecting government cash. Politicians who stoke fear. Who stays silent? Everyone who looks the other way and calls this “law and order.”

They will process his death as a paperwork problem. They already processed his life as one.
