For starters,the private equity thing and letting most of the staff go due to AI was simply a mistake, something the manager didn’t assess well, and then paid the consequences for it afterwards. Well, let’s just put it out there, he didn’t exactly pay, he started doing all kinds of things precisely TO AVOID paying.lol.
The entire situation is just dystopian. Imagine flying all the way from another continent just to talk to an anthropomorphic figure displayed on a screen. The manager probably knows that desperately calling his ex-employees to go back to how things were and push the blame onto them is not an excellent measure; likely, it was the last resort. I can’t even fathom what the other options he tried were.
