Eventually, it got to the point where the roommate was fully evicted from the apartment. That was now over a year ago. Thankfully, the tenant had formed a relationship with the landlord, who understood that none of this tomfoolery was the fault of the tenant. It was all his now ex-roommate.
To this day, the former roommate has not picked up the remainder of his furniture items, including a large table and a set of chairs that take up the majority of the space in the apartment. The tenant recently inherited his grandmother’s table and would like to get rid of the old one. He has contacted the ex-roommate several times, only to never receive a proper response.
By the time the tenant decided to sell the table on Marketplace, all of a sudden, the ex-roommate came back into the picture, only this time, he was threatening to sue the tenant. Apparently, he felt that he was entitled to do so because he never agreed for the tenant to attain ownership of his precious table.
Obviously, the tenant is prepared to defend himself, especially considering that their text messages over the last year demonstrate the ex-roommate’s lack of communication. Still, this guy probably thinks he’ll get some extra money by suing the author. If he really wants some cash, why doesn’t he just pick up the table and sell it himself?!
