William Tell: The Epic Failure.
This cringeworthy attempt to turn the story of the Swiss folk hero into a historical epic is a total snooze-fest. The only thing more tedious than the endless build-up to the moment where Tell (Claes Bang) shoots an apple off his son’s head is the excruciatingly slow pace that follows. The film is a laughable mess, filled with cheap special effects, poorly written dialogue, and characters that are as flat as a pancake. And don’t even get me started on the “rousing speeches” – it’s like the writers thought they could trick us into thinking we’re watching a real epic film by having the characters spout off a bunch of clichéd one-liners. The “battles” are about as convincing as a kindergarten play and the “villains” are cartoonishly one-dimensional. All in all, this film is a complete waste of time – and not even the famous apple-shooting scene can save it from its own mediocrity.
