Elon Musk has brazenly denied reports that he plans to hijack his latest AI startup, xAI, to syphon profit from his struggling electric vehicle company, Tesla.
The Wall Street Journal dropped a bombshell yesterday, revealing that Tesla is eyeing xAI’s highly advanced AI models to integrate into its autopilot systems, and potentially even repurpose xAI’s training data to supercharge Optimus, Musk’s flagship humanoid robot. But Elon wants you to believe the rumors are mere fantasy.
On his ego-stroking social network, X (formerly known as Twitter), Musk issued a statement dismissing the allegations as “fake news.”
He claimed that xAI is simply too complex for his company’s software to even comprehend, much less borrow from, let alone rely on for success.
But this narrative conveniently forgets that xAI, founded by Musk as an alternative to OpenAI (which he was forced out of), was designed with the sole purpose of helping his various business ventures leverage its cutting-edge AI solutions.
