Architecture is one of those professions where details matter. A lot. We’re talking about buildings, staircases, doorways, and other structures that people have to interact with every single day. When everything goes according to plan, nobody really notices. The stairs lead somewhere useful. The doors open without hitting anything. The windows are placed where windows are supposed to be. When things don’t go according to plan, however, the results can be unforgettable.
Unlike a typo in an email or a misspelled sign, architectural mistakes tend to be much harder to ignore. It’s difficult to overlook a staircase that leads directly into a wall or a doorway that opens into empty space. At some point, multiple people had to look at those designs and collectively decide, “Yep, that seems right.”
